【ミニーコラム】水道業者さんに脱帽
こんなことがあったよ。
洗面台の下から水が漏れて、大家さんが修理の水道業者さんを手配してくれたの。
修理が終わったあと、私は何気なく、そこに置いていたトイレットペーパーが濡れちゃったって言ったんだよね。
彼は何ロールですかって聞いたから、私はどういうことだろうって考えながら、３って言ったの。
そのトラブルについてごく普通にお詫びを言ってくれて、ありがとうと言って、彼は帰ったんだけど、数分後に新しいトイレットペーパー(正確には４ロール入りの１パックね)を持って、戻ってきたんだよ。
この人の親切さにほんとにびっくりしたよ。
この日本の普通以上の親切さとワンランク上のサービスをネパールに帰った時きっと懐かしく思うと思います。
彼には「今年の水道業者賞」をあげたいくらいよ！

今回は、dumbfoundなど、ちょっと難しい単語が多かったです。
この水道業者さんのサービスには私もほんとにびっくりしました。
なかなかここまでサービスしてくれることはないのではないでしょうか？

So this happened.
There was a leak underneath our wash basin and so the owner sent a plumber to fix it.
After it was fixed I just casually said that we knew from the wet toilet paper rolls kept there.
He asked how many rolls? I said 3, thinking what does it really matter.
After a customary sorry for the trouble and thank you,
he left only to come back few minutes later with new toilet paper (a pack of 4 rolls to be exact). I was dumbfounded by the kindness of this man.
These are the things I will miss about Japan, the unusual kindness and service to the next level.
He deserves ‘plumber of the year’ award 🏆 (bitter smile)
